# Reading the NEP 07: Your Classroom: Highlights

**Resource person:** GuruSetu - An animated series for teachers in Indian higher education

1. Evidence is gathered during learning and used by students and teachers to improve what happens next.
2. Work is judged against standards stated in advance rather than a student’s position relative to classmates.
3. The university’s adopted rules determine matters such as internal marks, final examinations and who can design each task.
4. They need its purpose, criteria, weight and timing early enough to prepare and use feedback.
5. Use a brief ungraded response, inspect a useful sample and adapt the next lesson to the misunderstandings it reveals.
