# Reading the NEP 05: The Holistic Degree: Highlights

1. The policy combines study across fields with rigorous specialisation in a chosen discipline.
2. A major, minor or open course may bring different students, prerequisites and learning purposes into the same room.
3. Separate the policy text, subsequent regulations, advisory frameworks and the university’s adopted curriculum.
4. Make assumed concepts explicit and provide a short introduction to the language, methods and expectations of the discipline.
