**Resource person:** GuruSetu - An animated series for teachers in Indian higher education

2. The policy’s scale and restructuring language does not by itself decide an individual college’s closure, merger or staff arrangements.
3. They can involve different governance and employment arrangements; read the applicable guidance and written local proposal before drawing conclusions.
4. A wider subject menu may be offset by longer journeys, higher living costs or reduced access for students in small towns.
5. It should show the institution’s proposed academic direction, resources and participation in decisions about departments, partnerships or autonomy.
