# Reading the NEP 03: The Students Who Will Arrive: Highlights

**Resource person:** GuruSetu - An animated series for teachers in Indian higher education

1. Students arrive from different boards, languages and implementation timelines, with different opportunities to learn.
2. It reorganises curricular and pedagogical stages across ages three to eighteen; it does not by itself require new school buildings.
3. A target describes an intended outcome; surveys and classroom work provide different kinds of evidence about what students can do.
4. A short task without marks reveals prior understanding and helps the teacher plan support without publicly ranking students.
5. An integrated teacher-education programme combines education with disciplinary study, so subject faculty may help prepare future school teachers.
