# Monsoon Semester 04: Invisible Backpacks: Highlights

**Resource person:** GuruSetu - An animated series for teachers in Indian higher education

1. Students carry financial, social and identity-related pressures that may not be visible in classroom performance.
2. They can expose private information, reinforce hierarchies and make students feel that their belonging needs justification.
3. Deliberate grouping can broaden contact and reduce the repeated exclusion that may arise when groups always choose themselves.
4. It respects the student’s own identity and avoids treating an unfamiliar name as an inconvenience.
5. Do not imply that students must prove they deserve a place or disclose personal circumstances to receive respect.
