# Learner-Centric Course Design: Highlights

1. Replace ‘understand’ and ‘appreciate’ with an observable performance.
2. Align the outcome, assessment, practice, and feedback. Complex abilities need direct rehearsal.
3. Use the room available in internal assessment and class time even when the syllabus is fixed.
4. Spend interaction on threshold concepts and recurring difficulties. Curate vetted material for simpler content.
5. Give every teaching tool a specific job linked to the outcome.
6. With AI-generated work, ask students to find errors, test the output, verify results, and explain corrections.
7. Keep human interaction, formative feedback, values, and professional judgement at the centre.
8. Use a community of practice to compare classroom evidence and revise the course with colleagues.
